Lithuania environmental reports show 4,346 pollution incidents

The Environmental Protection Department (AAD) has released results from the three-year anniversary of the ‘Tvarkau Lietuvą’ initiative. Since September 2023, residents have reported 4,346 instances of pollution and environmental violations. Of these, 2,959 cases have been resolved through territory cleanup or removal of violations.

The majority of the 4,064 reports nationwide concerned illegally discarded waste. In the Telšiai County region, 49 reports were recorded, a figure notably lower than in the Vilnius (1,556), Klaipėda (587), Šiauliai (174), and Tauragė (85) regions. Common reported issues include waste found in nature, dismantled car parts, and construction debris. In Telšiai County, five reports also involved damage to forest floors and roads, though no illegal logging was recorded in the area.
