Lithuania faces record warmth followed by cooler autumn weather

Lithuania is experiencing unseasonably warm autumn weather, with temperatures potentially reaching 23–28 degrees Celsius. Meteorologist Gytis Valaika noted that this could become the warmest September day on record, approaching the current national record of 29 degrees set in 2019.

Following this warm spell, weather patterns are expected to shift toward cooler, more autumnal conditions. Forecasts indicate intermittent rain and thunderstorms through the end of the week, with daytime temperatures settling between 16–21 degrees Celsius.

Long-term projections suggest that the second half of September may remain warmer than the standard climate norm by approximately 1.5 degrees, with precipitation levels potentially reaching 40 percent above the norm.
