Lithuania faces several days of rain and strong winds

A low‑pressure system will dominate Lithuania from Monday through Wednesday. Monday will be overcast with intermittent rain and occasional thunderstorms. Southwest and west winds will blow at 7‑12 m s⁻¹, gusting to 15 m s⁻¹ in places, while daytime temperatures rise only to 13‑18 °C and night temperatures fall to 7‑12 °C.

Tuesday will see a similar pattern as the cyclone lingers near the country. Clouds remain thick, short showers are expected across most regions and isolated thunderstorms may occur. Winds strengthen to 8‑13 m s⁻¹ from the west and northwest, with gusts up to 15 m s⁻¹. Temperatures climb to 14‑19 °C during the day and dip to 8‑13 °C at night. By Wednesday the weather stabilises with brief, light rain and milder conditions; temperatures rise further and the wind eases. Recent measurements also show a rise in river and lake levels, especially in western Lithuania where water levels have increased up to 61 cm in a single day.
