Fuel prices rise in Riga and Vilnius as diesel exceeds two euros

Fuel prices in the Baltic capitals of Riga, Vilnius, and Tallinn showed divergent trends over the past week. In Riga and Vilnius, prices for both gasoline and diesel increased, with diesel costs surpassing the two-euro per liter mark in both cities.

In Riga, Circle K reported a 9.6% increase in 95-octane gasoline prices to 1.934 euros per liter, while diesel rose by 10% to 2.084 euros per liter. This marks the first time diesel has exceeded two euros in Riga since mid-April. In Vilnius, gasoline reached 1.839 euros per liter, a 4.5% weekly increase, while diesel rose to 2.059 euros per liter.

Conversely, Tallinn saw a decrease in fuel costs. Gasoline prices fell by 1.1% to 1.839 euros per liter, and diesel prices dropped by 5.1% to 1.869 euros per liter. In Lithuania, fuel prices also continued to rise as of Friday.
