Lithuania fuel price changes

In late July 2026 Lithuania’s energy agency recorded a modest rise in diesel to €1.97 / L and a 0.4% drop in gasoline to €1.77 / L. By early August diesel slipped to €2.01 / L and gasoline fell further to €1.76 / L, while LPG continued to rise and Brent crude fell to about $79 / bbl.

On 5 August the government clarified its fiscal stance: Finance Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius said a diesel excise‑tax cut would only be considered if retail diesel prices rose above €2.20 / L. With diesel at €2.01 / L and gasoline at €1.76 / L, officials noted that existing temporary tax‑relief measures – a six‑cent diesel excise reduction applied earlier amid Middle‑East shipping disruptions – remain sufficient. Industry representatives called for a review should prices stay above regional levels.
