Eurovision selection processes advance in Ireland, Lithuania, and Luxembourg

Several nations are progressing with their selection processes for upcoming Eurovision Song Contests.

In Ireland, the Junior Eurovision Éire 2026 competition is underway via TG4. Following the studio rounds where ten artists performed Irish-language covers, eight contestants have advanced to the next stage. The competition aims to select a representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Ta’ Qali.

Lithuania's broadcaster LRT has officially opened submissions for “Eurovizija. LT 2027.” The selection process includes four semi-finals and a grand final scheduled for February 20, 2027. Notably, LRT is addressing the use of artificial intelligence, stating that a competition song and its lyrics cannot be entirely created by AI, pending further guidelines from the European Broadcasting Union.

Meanwhile, Luxembourg has reached the deadline for artist applications for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest. Applicants must be Luxembourgish citizens or have a strong connection to the local music industry and meet specific age and residency requirements.
