European Eurovision selection processes

Overview

Several European nations have initiated or advanced their selection processes for upcoming Eurovision Song Contests.

In Ireland, the Junior Eurovision Éire 2026 competition via TG4 has progressed to a stage where eight contestants remain after performing Irish-language covers. In Lithuania, broadcaster LRT has opened submissions for ‘Eurovizija. LT 2027’, noting that competition songs and lyrics cannot be entirely created by artificial intelligence. Luxembourg has also reached the application deadline for its 2027 representatives.

Greece has joined these efforts through broadcaster ERT, which opened the ‘Sing for Greece 2027’ submission window on September 22, 2026. The Greek selection will feature two semi-finals and a national final to determine a representative for the 71st Eurovision Song Contest in Burgas, Bulgaria.
