Lithuania to introduce practical exams for AM category drivers
Starting November 1, Lithuania will implement new requirements for obtaining an AM category driving license, which covers mopeds and light quadricycles (micro-cars). Under the new regulations, applicants must pass both a theoretical and a practical driving exam.
Additionally, the minimum age for drivers in this category will increase from 15 to 16 years old. The changes, managed by Regitra, are intended to strengthen overall road safety.
The announcement has drawn mixed reactions from the public. While some support the move, others have expressed concerns regarding the safety of 16-year-olds in heavy traffic and questioned whether young drivers possess sufficient skills for public roads.
