Lithuania weather forecast: frost and fog warnings issued

Lithuania is facing a period of variable weather characterized by sunshine, fog, and significant temperature drops. According to Meteo LT, yellow warnings for fog and frost have been issued for several regions, including Vilnius, Kaunas, Utena, Alytus, Marijampolė, and Tauragė. Frost is expected in the air and on soil surfaces, with temperatures potentially reaching 0 to 5 degrees Celsius during the night.

While the immediate forecast shows cooling trends and potential visibility issues for drivers due to fog, a shift is expected later in the week. In neighboring Poland, the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) predicts a warming trend by next Wednesday, with temperatures in southern and western Poland potentially reaching 17 to 18 degrees Celsius. Near the Lithuanian border, temperatures are expected to rise to approximately 13 to 14 degrees Celsius during that period.
