Lithuania weather forecast warns of frost and fog

Lithuania is experiencing a return of autumnal weather patterns, characterized by frost, fog, and rain. Meteorologists warn of dangerous conditions, particularly regarding visibility and temperature drops.

During the night, fog is expected to reduce visibility in many areas, with specific dangerous fog warnings issued for the Kaunas, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, and Utena counties. Drivers are advised to be cautious, and pedestrians are encouraged to wear reflective gear. Additionally, frost is predicted on soil surfaces in several regions, including Vilnius, Alytus, Marijampolė, Tauragė, Telšiai, and Klaipėda, with temperatures reaching 0–3 degrees Celsius. Experts recommend protecting sensitive outdoor plants.

Daytime temperatures are expected to range between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. Rain is forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, with wind speeds potentially reaching 15–17 m/s near the coast. By Friday, colder conditions are anticipated, with nighttime temperatures dropping to near freezing both in the air and on the ground.
