Lithuanian agencies launch initiatives to help citizens claim benefits and consumer rights

The State Social Insurance Fund Board (Sodra) sent electronic reminders to roughly 28,000 residents, urging them to submit applications for sickness benefits that remain unpaid, amounting to about €4.6 million. The notice explains eligibility criteria, the application process and the timeframe for claiming retroactive payments.

The State Consumer Rights Protection Service (VVTAT) unveiled a new digital guide that walks users through the steps of filing a consumer‑rights request. The tool clarifies which institution handles each type of dispute, the required documentation and pre‑filing actions, aiming to reduce confusion and speed up resolutions.
