Lithuanian diaspora convenes in Vilnius to strengthen national economy

Hundreds of Lithuanian professionals from business, science, the public sector and the diaspora gathered in Vilnius for the Global Lithuanian Leaders Forum. The event, organized by the Global Lithuanian Leaders network, aimed to deepen ties between Lithuania and its overseas talent pool.

Economy and Innovation Minister Edvinas Grikšas said the diaspora is a key partner for attracting investment, innovation and tourism, outlining the ministry’s “3i” strategy – investment, innovation and institution building. Participants discussed how to bring high‑skill Lithuanians back, improve the country’s competitiveness, boost economic security, and promote defence financing and tourism. Representatives from companies such as Vinted and Oxylabs shared insights on expanding Lithuanian business abroad.

The forum seeks to turn diaspora expertise and contacts into concrete growth opportunities for Lithuania’s economy.
