Lithuania investment and diaspora outreach

In late July 2026, Lithuania’s Economy and Innovation Minister Edvinas Grikšas spearheaded a coordinated push to strengthen the national economy. The Global Lithuanian Leaders Forum in Vilnius brought together hundreds of diaspora professionals from business, science and the public sector. Participants discussed how to channel high‑skill talent, investment, innovation and tourism back to Lithuania, with the minister outlining a “3i” strategy of investment, innovation and institution‑building.

Following the forum, Grikšas toured the Prienai and Ukmergė districts, meeting mayors, regional officials and business leaders. In Prienai he explored granting resort‑area status and highlighted recent infrastructure upgrades and fast‑track permits. In Ukmergė he inspected manufacturing firms and a tourism centre, emphasizing the area’s strategic location, industrial base and tourism potential. Both events illustrate a focused effort to attract investment, boost export competitiveness and deepen ties with the Lithuanian diaspora.
