Lithuanian municipalities provide cemetery guidance for All Souls' Day

As All Souls' Day and All Saints' Day approach, municipalities in Vilkaviškis and Telšiai have released information regarding cemetery locations and digital search systems to assist residents in locating graves.

In Vilkaviškis, a district-wide digitalization project has been completed, covering 185 cemeteries. The town maintains two active cemeteries: the Kapų gatvė cemetery, which contains 8,642 digitized graves, and the Pagramdų cemetery, which holds 1,991 digitized graves. Historical sites, including Lutheran and World War I soldier cemeteries, are also noted, though they are no longer used for new burials.

In Telšiai, residents primarily use the Degaičiai cemetery for burials, which has 910 digitized graves. The town also maintains the old cemetery on Bobė Hill, containing 7,570 digitized graves, and a newer cemetery on Plungė Street with 4,850 digitized graves. Visiting hours for municipal cemeteries are from 7:00 to 23:00, and vehicle access within cemetery grounds is restricted to authorized service vehicles.
