Lithuania uncovers major synthetic drug laboratory near Vilnius

Lithuanian authorities have dismantled one of the largest synthetic drug laboratories ever discovered in the Baltic region. Located near Vilnius, the facility operated on an almost industrial scale, producing drugs intended for export to markets including Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic.

Police seized more than 500 kg of methamphetamine, over 300 kg of amphetamine, approximately 4.5 kg of the synthetic cathinone 3-CMC, and more than 3,000 liters of the precursor BMK. The confiscated substances are estimated to represent over 4 million single doses. While the wholesale value of the drugs exceeds 2 million euros, the street-level value could be ten times higher.

Investigators identified a Dutch citizen of Turkish origin as the main organizer, who allegedly coordinated the operation with three Lithuanian nationals. The criminal group sourced laboratory equipment and chemicals from China, India, and various European suppliers. Four individuals have been charged in connection with the operation.
