Lithuanian President Nausėda visits Kyiv to reaffirm support for Ukraine
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda visited Kyiv to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day and reaffirm long-term support for the nation. During his visit, Nausėda met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and participated in meetings with regional leaders, including a summit of Ukraine and the North Sea and Baltic states, as well as a meeting of the ‘Partnership Coalition’.
Nausėda emphasized that Lithuania will not recognize any occupation of Ukrainian territories and remains committed to supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He outlined long-term support priorities, which include assisting in the reconstruction of schools, hospitals, and electrical infrastructure following the war, as well as supporting Ukraine’s aspirations to join the European Union and NATO.
First Lady Diana Nausėdienė also participated in the visit, attending the ‘World 2026: Seeking Stability in Uncertain Times’ meeting organized by Ukraine’s First Lady to focus on social resilience and the impacts of war.
