Lithuanian theater festivals announce upcoming events in Kaunas and Klaipėda

The National Kaunas Drama Theatre will host the 16th international theater festival, ‘Nerk į teatrą’, from November 10 to 20. This year’s theme focuses on audience diversity and neurodiversity, introducing the ‘Relaxed Performance’ practice. This approach modifies performance conditions—such as softening lighting, reducing sound intensity, and allowing freedom of movement—to accommodate individuals with neurological sensitivities, disabilities, or families with young children.

Additionally, the 18th ‘Jaunatis’ national theater festival is scheduled to take place at the Klaipėda Fishermen's Hall from October 15 to November 7, 2026. The festival lineup includes various productions, such as the documentary ‘Mąstanti barakų širdis’, the independent ‘No Shoes’ theater production for teenagers, and performances by the Kaunas State Puppet Theatre and the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre.
