Lithuania’s Kaunas Region Secures €63 Million EU Funding for Sustainable Manufacturing

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation allocated almost €63 million of EU structural‑fund financing to four large firms in Lithuania’s Kaunas region. The grants – €20 million to Teltonika EMS, €15 million to Vilnius Paukštynas, €20 million to Hautica and €7.6 million to Rapsoila – are intended to modernise production, create more than 780 sustainable jobs and train the same number of workers.

The funded projects cover pet‑food processing, printing, liquid bio‑fuel production and the assembly of electronic boards, with three of the companies planning to develop STEP technologies that are deemed strategically important for Europe’s digital, clean‑energy and biotech sectors. The regional job plan targets 450 positions in Kaunas district, 210 in Kaunas city, 64 in Kėdainiai district and about 60 in Kaišiadorys district.

The investment aligns with Lithuania’s “3i” economic transformation agenda, which seeks to ensure at least 30 % of new investments reach regional economies, boost competitiveness and move towards a climate‑neutral economy.
