Lithuania's Via Lietuva road works prompt traffic restrictions on Vilnius–Utena highway and in Vilnius
State‑owned Via Lietuva announced that reconstruction of the A14 Vilnius–Utena highway is nearing completion. While final works continue across several sections, drivers are urged to use alternate routes and plan trips in advance. The company detailed progress: most asphalt work is finished on sections 21‑26 km, 28.4‑39.2 km and 39.2‑51.55 km, with remaining tasks such as guard‑rail installation and paving slated for completion by early autumn. The viaduct on road 2809 is expected to reopen this fall.
Separately, temporary traffic changes were implemented in Vilnius on 18 June. At the Gariūnas viaduct, A19 traffic toward the city was closed for beam‑slot installation, with detours via a Toyota centre and a designated bypass; public transport continued uninterrupted. On Savanorių prospekt between Sausupio and Liepsnos streets, lane reductions and alternating flow were introduced from 18 June to 23 June to accommodate underground pipe work. Authorities warned of heavier than usual congestion and advised motorists to allow extra travel time or choose alternative routes.
