In parallel, Lithuanian Railways tendered an 8.6‑km electrified broad‑gauge line to the Rūdninkai military polygon, expected to be signed by year‑end.

Late July 2026 Via Lietuva announced a wildlife‑collision protection programme, allocating about €8 million to install roughly 90 km of fences, underpasses, green bridges and variable‑message signs on the A1, A2 and A6 motorways, expanding on existing 900 km of protective infrastructure.

On 20 July 2026 the state allocated more than €1 million to rebuild drainage infrastructure in six municipalities (Kėdainiai, Klaipėda, Kaunas, Plungė, Trakai, Panevėžys). Design work and procurement have begun; the projects will restore 15.8 km of drainage lines, 11.8 km of ditches, 16 culverts and related structures, with an 18‑month schedule and final reporting due by 30 November 2027. All activities are coordinated with temporary signage and driver advisories, contributing to a broader effort to modernise Lithuania’s transport and wider infrastructure networks while improving safety and reducing congestion.
