Lithuania's Via Toll road toll system prepares for carrier integration

Lithuanian transport operator Via Lietuva announced that technical specifications for external service providers have been published ahead of the launch of the electronic road‑toll system Via Toll on 1 January 2027. The requirements enable partners to integrate common carrier solutions – on‑board units (OBU), fuel‑card systems and European electronic road‑toll service (EERP) – so that freight and passenger transport operators can continue using familiar payment methods without disruption.

General director Martynas Gedaminskas urged providers to start the accreditation process now, noting that the first companies have already begun and that full integration may take several months due to programming, documentation, testing and licensing steps. All relevant technical documents for OBU, EERP and fuel‑card providers are available on the Via Lietuva website.
