In the weeks that followed, Via Lietuva released technical specifications for external service providers, enabling integration of carrier‑facing solutions such as OBUs, fuel‑card systems and the European electronic road‑toll service (EERP). Operators were urged to begin accreditation, acknowledging that full integration could take several months due to testing and licensing.

In July 2026, Transport Minister Juras Taminskas announced that the combined budget for the State Road Fund and the Road Maintenance and Development Programme will approach €1 billion in the 2025 fiscal year, up from €815.5 million in 2026. The new Via Toll system is expected to contribute at least €110 million annually to the Road Fund, compared with roughly €70 million collected under the current vignette scheme. The head of the “Lietuvos keliai” association cautioned that the core funding source must be preserved to maintain Lithuania’s 21 000 km state road network.
