Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker faces contract uncertainty

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is entering the final nine months of his current contract, which runs until June 2027. While the club previously activated a one-year extension, there are currently no active negotiations regarding a new deal. Journalist Fabrizio Romano noted that while Liverpool chose to retain the veteran leader despite interest from Juventus, a new agreement will be necessary to prevent him from becoming a free agent in the summer of 2027.

This contract situation directly impacts the future of Giorgi Mamardashvili, the Georgian goalkeeper signed from Valencia. Although Mamardashvili is under contract until 2031, reports suggest he may seek an exit in 2027 if Alisson remains the club’s undisputed number one. Mamardashvili has seen limited playing time this season, appearing only once in the EFL Cup, as the coaching staff continues to favor Alisson for Premier League fixtures.
