Liverpool prepares for departures of Ibrahima Konate and Federico Chiesa
Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate is set to leave Anfield as a free agent this month after five years with the club. A report indicated his wage demands – around £192,000 per week, equating to over £40 million across a four‑year contract – could not be met, prompting the club to forego a transfer fee rather than meet the terms. Konate is expected to join Real Madrid next season.
Separately, forward Federico Chiesa, who has struggled for game time at Liverpool, told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he would like to return to his former club Juventus. He said, "I would never have left… I'd like to return to the Bianconeri," and added that money was never discussed with Juventus. The comments suggest Chiesa is ready to move on from Liverpool.
Both players are likely to depart, leaving Liverpool to reshape their attacking and defensive options ahead of the new season.
