Livorno gastronomy recognized by The Times and Gambero Rosso

Livorno's culinary tradition has received international recognition from major publications. The London-based newspaper The Times included Osteria Alle Vettovaglie, located within the Mercato Centrale di Livorno, in its ranking of the 30 best experiences to try in Italy, placing it at 28th position.

Journalist Julia Buckley highlighted the Osteria as a “love letter to Livornese cuisine,” noting its focus on seafood and tomato-based dishes that reflect the city's history as a Medici port. The article also praised the Mercato Centrale for remaining a functional Belle Époque market rather than a purely tourist-oriented food hall.

Additionally, the culinary guide Gambero Rosso highlighted Melafumo, a traditional local establishment known for its authentic atmosphere and affordable seafood menus.
