Livorno holds Riccardo Cioni Memorial DJ festival on August 1

The sixth edition of the Riccardo Cioni Memorial took place on 1 August at Fortezza Nuova in Livorno, Italy. The event honored the late Livorno DJ (who died in January 2021) with a night of dance music featuring DJs from across Tuscany. Organised by the Fondazione Lem, the festival was broadcast live on RAI Radio 2 and presented by Roberto Onofri and Gloria Zanin.

All participating DJs performed on professional turntables using vinyl records, a deliberate choice to showcase the authentic craft of DJing. The program included a mix of local and international talent, with a capacity of about 1,300 spectators and a multimedia stage that combined live music, video projections and lighting effects.

Municipal officials attended the launch, underscoring the event’s role in celebrating regional musical heritage and promoting cultural tourism in Livorno.
