Italian summer festivals spotlight music and cultural performances

The Lavagnino Summer Festival in Alessandria presented a concert titled “De André in classic… e non solo!” on 8 August. Soloists of the Orchestra Classica di Alessandria performed arrangements of Fabrizio De André’s songs, accompanied by vocalist Flavia Barbacetto.

In Livorno, the sixth edition of the Memorial DJ Full Time took place at the Fortezza Medicea, honoring pioneering disco‑DJ Riccardo Cioni. Hosts Roberto DJ Onofri and Gloria Zanin led the night, which also featured a talent award for a young DJ and a performance by Alex Kardo.

Venice’s Effetto Venezia festival continued its 41st edition with a talk on bullying, a live set by Sanremo‑star Ditonellapiaga, and a closing concert by Ginevra Di Marco, alongside youth bands in the Fortezza venues.

In Fano, the Wunderkammer Youth Ensemble performed “Voices of Europe” in the former San Francesco church, presenting a program of European folk songs arranged for chamber ensemble.
