Livre party announces 2027 State Budget proposals in Portugal

The political party Livre has announced several proposals for the 2027 State Budget debate, including the creation of a national mobility pass to replace the current Green Railway Pass. The party aims to provide a single transport title covering the entire territory.

Other key proposals include increasing family allowances and child guarantees, strengthening the ‘3 C – Casa, Conforto e Clima’ program to combat energy poverty, and establishing a public network of nursing homes. Livre also intends to propose a ‘social inheritance’—a fund of approximately 5,000 euros for every baby born in the country, accessible when they turn 18.

During their political relaunch event in Porto, spokesperson Isabel Mendes Lopes accused the PSD/CDS-PP government of attempting to limit the role of deputies in the budgetary process by claiming there is little room for amendments. The party has also signaled intentions to address the regulation of online gaming in parliament.
