Ljubljana Bus Station moves to temporary location
The Ljubljana Bus Station is relocating to a temporary site located at the former parking area between Tirjeva and Masarykova Road. This move is part of a major project to develop a new, modern passenger center in Ljubljana and its surrounding infrastructure.
The temporary facility will feature 46 bus platforms, including seven dedicated to articulated buses, which represents a 50 percent increase in capacity compared to the current location. This expansion is intended to improve traffic flow and address long-standing criticisms of the existing station.
Key amenities at the new site include a traffic office and a sales point with five windows. While four ticket windows will be managed by the Ljubljana Bus Station, one will be operated by Slovenske železnice. Notably, passengers will now be able to purchase tickets using bank cards, a feature previously unavailable due to the cash-only policy. Other planned services include Urbanomat, ticket machines, luggage lockers, and restrooms, as well as 30 rental bikes through the Nomago Bikes system.
