Ljubljana bus station relocates to Masarykova Road, train platforms changed

Slovenian transport operator Nomago will move Ljubljana’s main bus station to a temporary site on Masarykova Street on 24 August. The new facility will have 46 platforms, offering more space and modern infrastructure as part of a broader renovation around the railway station.

Slovenske železnice (SŽ) will simultaneously adjust train operations. After the completion of construction, the temporary platform on track 94 (above Dunajska Street) will be closed to trains after 19:00 on the same Sunday, and services will resume using the central part of the railway station. Temporary platforms on tracks 95‑98 at the Masarykova Road and Njegoševa Street intersection will be phased out, with full removal expected by 1 September. A walking distance of at least ten minutes from the main station to the temporary platforms is required, and a dedicated access point for disabled passengers will remain on Vilharjeva Street.
