L&K Biomed secures US distribution deal for BluEX-C cervical implants
L&K Biomed, through its US subsidiary L&K Spine, has signed a distribution agreement with Precision Spine, Inc. for its BluEX-C cervical expandable cage. Precision Spine, based in New Jersey, maintains a network of over 150 partners across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
The BluEX-C device, which received FDA approval in May, allows for precise height adjustment during cervical surgery. Within two months of its launch, the product was registered at 29 hospitals in the US and surpassed 50 surgical levels applied as of early October.
This agreement follows a previous contract with Medtronic for lumbar expandable cages, allowing L&K Biomed to expand its presence in both the cervical and lumbar spinal markets. The company aims to capitalize on the growing US spinal implant market, driven by an aging population and increased access to public healthcare through Medicare and Medicaid.
L&K Biomed is also advancing its “New Cervical Project” through technical collaboration with spinal expert Dr. K. Daniel Riew to develop products for corpectomy. Additionally, the company is collecting data from BluEX-C procedures to develop future AI-integrated smart systems.
