Lạng Sơn official prosecuted for embezzlement

Lạng Sơn provincial police have expanded an investigation into an embezzlement case at the Hữu Lũng Water Supply Branch. Nguyễn Duy Sáng, an official at the branch, has been formally prosecuted under Article 353 of the Penal Code.

Investigations revealed that between January and June 2025, former branch director Trần Văn Thịnh and team leader Nguyễn Anh Dũng directed employees to collect payments from local households without issuing receipts or invoices. The misappropriated funds were reportedly handed over to Nguyễn Duy Sáng for personal use.

This development follows the previous prosecution and detention of Trần Văn Thịnh and Nguyễn Anh Dũng in July 2026. Authorities are continuing to expand the investigation to clarify the involvement of other related individuals.
