Lào Cai Education Department Reviews Surge in Math Scores After Social Media Allegations

Social media analysis highlighted an unusually high concentration of math scores among 336 consecutive exam candidates in Lào Cai province, with 41 of the 60 perfect scores in the province belonging to this group. The findings sparked public speculation about possible irregularities in the high school graduation exams.

The Lào Cai Department of Education responded by forming a task force to examine all exam data. Initial checks have not uncovered any signs of wrongdoing, and officials noted that the high scores are consistent with the abilities of students in specialized science classes. The department pledged to continue a thorough, objective review and to provide data to relevant authorities should further investigation be required.
