Lào Cai issues flash flood and landslide warnings

Authorities in Lào Cai province have issued warnings for flash floods, landslides, and ground subsidence affecting 54 communes and wards. The alert follows significant rainfall over a 24-hour period, with some areas recording over 100 mm of rain. Soil moisture levels in certain regions have exceeded 70%, increasing the risk of natural disasters caused by runoff and flooding.

Nationwide weather forecasts indicate widespread rain across Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City is expected to experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Other regions, including Hanoi, the Northwest, and the Central Highlands, are also bracing for heavy rainfall, potential lightning, and strong gusts.
