Lo Chih-chiang defends Chiang Wan-an against political pressure
Lo Chih-chiang has defended Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an against recent political pressure, characterizing the opposition's tactics as an assault by the “state machine.” Lo argued that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) utilizes unlimited media, internet armies, and state resources to target political opponents.
Addressing recent polling that shows Shen Po-yang leading Chiang Wan-an by 17%, Lo remarked that such data serves as a catalyst for supporters. He compared the current political climate to previous recall attempts against Kuomintang (KMT) legislators, suggesting that despite aggressive political maneuvering and unfavorable polls, the team remains confident in Chiang’s ability to recover and maintain voter support.
Lo emphasized that while the team must improve, the primary challenge is the intensity of the opposition's resources. He expressed confidence in Chiang’s record and integrity, asserting that voters will ultimately support the mayor's reelection.
