Luis Caputo defends economic path and criticizes Axel Kicillof

Argentina's Economy Minister Luis Caputo has defended the national economic program while engaging in sharp political rhetoric. During a recent presentation, Caputo criticized Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof, labeling him the 'anticristo' and claiming his political stance negatively impacts investment. Caputo also dismissed calls for currency devaluation from certain business sectors, describing those proponents as 'momias o miserables' who seek a poor economy for personal gain. Regarding monetary stability, Caputo projected that the Central Bank could acquire up to US$30,000 million in foreign reserves under optimistic scenarios, citing low monetary base levels and extended debt maturities.

On the provincial level, Governor Axel Kicillof and Banco Provincia President Juan Cuattromo have signed leasing agreements totaling 7,855 million pesos. These funds, distributed through the 'Línea Municipios 2026' program, are intended to help various municipalities acquire capital goods, including road machinery, health equipment, and public works tools. This initiative aims to support local management and prepare for potential environmental impacts, such as the El Niño phenomenon.
