Local administrative and healthcare challenges in Poland

In the Lublin Voivodeship, several municipalities, including Dubienka and Rejowiec, face potential loss of National Recovery Plan (KPO) reimbursements after the Lublin Voivode invalidated their general spatial management plans. These mandatory documents were prepared urgently to secure funding, but legal challenges have disrupted the process. In Rejowiec, Mayor Tadeusz Górski intends to appeal the decision to an administrative court, defending a plan that includes a training center and shooting range near Kolonia Hruszów.

In the Lubuskie Voivodeship, authorities are moving forward with a plan to consolidate hospitals in Sulechów and Zielona Góra. Voivode Marek Cebula stated the reorganization aims to optimize operations and reduce financial losses caused by low bed occupancy rates of 20–30%. While the consolidation will transfer maternity services to the Mother and Child Hospital in Zielona Góra, Cebula emphasized that no departments are being liquidated. The merger is also intended to streamline IT costs and enhance cybersecurity by managing sensitive patient data through a unified system.
