Polish regional administrative and healthcare challenges

Various Polish voivodeships are experiencing administrative and operational difficulties within their local government and healthcare sectors.

In the Lublin Voivodeship, municipalities such as Dubienka and Rejowiec face the potential loss of National Recovery Plan (KPO) reimbursements following the invalidation of their spatial management plans by the Lublin Voivode. In Rejowiec, local leadership plans to appeal this decision in court.

Healthcare restructuring is occurring in several regions. In the Lubuskie Voivodeship, authorities are consolidating hospitals in Sulechów and Zielona Góra to optimize operations and address low bed occupancy rates. In the Podlaskie Voivodeship, the Provincial Hospital in Łomża has reduced its obstetrics and gynecology bed capacity to align staffing with patient demand and avoid unfinanced maintenance costs.

Additionally, legal scrutiny has emerged in Podlaskie, where the District Prosecutor's Office in Łomża is investigating a former employee of a hospital in Grajewo regarding the procurement of medical supplies and oxygen concentrators outside of public procedures.
