Local administrative disputes emerge in Sciacca and Trapani

In Sciacca, municipal councilor Giuseppe Catanzaro has called for serious institutional action following controversy involving Councilor Francesco Dimino. The dispute centers on municipal contracts awarded to the Terre di Dedalo association, which includes members of Dimino’s family. Catanzaro stated that the situation risks undermining the credibility of the Sciacca Municipality and suggested that a motion of no confidence may be inevitable to protect the institution.

In Trapani, a dispute has escalated between the municipality and Anffas regarding the revocation of approximately 300,000 euros. These funds, originally allocated in 2017 for 'Dopo di Noi' projects aimed at supporting individuals with severe disabilities, were revoked by the Sicilian Region in August 2025. Anffas representatives are contesting the municipality's explanation for the loss of resources, demanding clarity on administrative responsibilities and the impact on families who lost access to autonomy and housing projects.
