Local bakeries in Catalonia highlight community heritage
Traditional bakeries in Catalonia continue to serve as central pillars of their local communities. In the Trinitat neighborhood, Forn Trinitat has operated since 1927. Currently managed by the third generation of the Jordà family, the bakery produces approximately 600 loaves of bread daily alongside various pastries and sweets.
In Manresa, chef Jordi Cruz has highlighted the importance of Forn Tàpies, a bakery from his childhood. Cruz noted that the sounds and smells of the establishment, such as the machine slicing large loaves, remain significant markers of his identity and his connection to his hometown.
