Local communities celebrate cultural anniversaries and traditions
Various local cultural celebrations have taken place, marking significant anniversaries in different regions. In Ciudad Alianza, the Casa de la Cultura celebrated its 40th anniversary with a series of events including historical discussions led by chronicler Rubén González Rengifo, theatrical performances such as ‘La Pulga y el Piojo’, and art exhibitions focusing on prehistory and recycling. The festivities also included a dedicated space to showcase emerging local artists.
In San Blas Atempa, the Feria del Maíz was held to commemorate the 158th anniversary of the municipality's declaration as free and sovereign. The fair centered on native corn from the Istmo de Tehuantepec, highlighting Zapotec identity through traditional gastronomy. Local producers and cooks presented various regional foods, including tamales and atoles, to preserve culinary knowledge and promote community traditions.
