Local Dutch villages host business open days drawing regional visitors

The second edition of Open Bedrijvendag Zwartsluis on Saturday attracted a large crowd of visitors from Zwartsluis and surrounding towns such as Genemuiden, Hasselt, Staphorst and Urk. Seventeen local companies opened their doors for tours and hands‑on activities, ranging from shipyards to cookie bakers, while organizers praised the unexpectedly high turnout and announced plans for future editions.

In Beltrum, the annual Boerendag added a first‑ever business reception on Saturday evening, offering local entrepreneurs a reduced‑price barbecue, live music and a chance to network. The event continued on Sunday with a tractor pull, children's activities and additional musical performances, aiming to become a lasting tradition for the community and its surrounding area.
