Municipalities in Latin America implement animal welfare and health programs

Various municipalities across Latin America are launching initiatives focused on animal welfare, public health, and population control. In Brazil, several cities are conducting large-scale rabies vaccination campaigns, including Alta Floresta, Barra Mansa, and Penedo, while Manaus and Valinhos are utilizing mobile units to provide free spay and neuter services.

In Mexico, Tampico has implemented a program to replace working horses with cargo motorcycles to ensure the animals' retirement and prevent mistreatment. Meanwhile, Mexico City’s Metro Canine Transfer Center is participating in adoption events to find homes for rescued animals.

In Argentina, Santa Fe is expanding veterinary services through mobile clinics, and Río Grande is promoting responsible pet ownership through community outreach. In Chile, the municipality of La Cruz is providing free veterinary care in rural sectors to improve access for remote residents.
