Local infrastructure disputes in Alghero and Piazza Armerina

In Alghero, Councilor Francesco Marinaro has addressed the ongoing delays regarding the city's strategic bypass road. Marinaro stated that the administration aims to complete all open and suspended construction sites, asserting that the bypass project can be finished by spring 2027. He attributed previous delays to technical and administrative obstacles, including an inadequate original project design that failed to account for soil stability and specific landscaping requirements.

In Piazza Armerina, a political dispute has emerged following the City Council's refusal to authorize spending for a new parking area intended to serve the municipal collection center. The project, funded by state resources recovered from an old loan, aimed to expand spaces and improve safety. Mayor Nino Cammarata criticized the Council's decision as a political move rather than a technical one, noting that the funds, totaling 250,000 euros, must now be returned to the Ministry.
