Local Japanese confectionery shops announce October 2026 closures

Two local confectionery shops in Japan are scheduled to close in October 2026.

In Funabashi, the pudding specialty shop ‘Tamago no Hatsumei,’ located near Takane Kodan Station, will cease operations on October 10, 2026. The shop was known for its rich, egg-focused puddings, chiffon cakes, and crepes. Additionally, the vending machine located at Aeon Takane Kido, which sold the shop's products, will also be discontinued.

In Matsuyama, the pastry shop ‘Indies Kashimashi Tarumi Lounge’ will close on October 12, 2026, due to various circumstances. The shop, which previously operated an attached cafe that closed in July 2024, is currently focusing on sales of baked goods. While this specific location is closing, the operating company, F.F.D. Co., Ltd., will continue to run other pastry shops, including ‘UN PETIT PEU’ in Nibanchō and the JOW Plaza location.
