Localities in Italy inaugur new trails and forest conservation initiatives
In the Castrocielo and Colle San Magno regions, the 'Sentiero della Botte' has been officially inaugurated. This natural path, recovered after years of abandonment, connects Selva Don Cristoforo to the Colle San Magno Adventure Park. The project, a collaboration between the municipalities of Castrocielo and Colle San Magno, aims to promote slow tourism and revitalize the natural heritage of the Terre di Aquinum by following an ancient route that once led to a historic water conduit known as the 'Botte'.
In the Monferrato area, seven municipalities across the provinces of Alessandria and Asti are working to reconstitute the Assembly of Mayors for the 'Bosco delle Sorti – La Communa' natural safeguard zone. The initiative involves the towns of Alice Bel Colle, Cassine, Gamalero, and Ricaldone in Alessandria, and Bruno, Maranzana, and Mombaruzzo in Asti. Supported by the Piedmont Region, the group aims to protect approximately 1,800 hectares of forest and improve trail maintenance to encourage sustainable tourism and preserve the historical collective management traditions of the area.
