Lockheed Martin expands defense partnerships and rocket production
Lockheed Martin is advancing several key defense initiatives, including an expanded partnership with the Royal Netherlands Aerospace Center (NLR). Building on a 2024 memorandum of understanding, the collaboration will now focus on unmanned aerial systems (UAS), military operational analysis, and integrating Dutch suppliers into global defense supply chains to support the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
Separately, the U.S. Army has granted Milestone C approval for Lockheed Martin’s Extended-Range GMLRS rocket. Following successful operational tests at the White Sands Missile Range, the 150-kilometer range rocket is cleared for production and fielding. The weapon is designed to be compatible with existing HIMARS and M270 launchers, allowing U.S. and allied forces to increase strike range without requiring new launcher systems.
