Loft expands to Hong Kong with pop-up shop and advances recycling initiatives
Japanese retailer Loft is expanding its international presence with a year-long pop-up shop at the MOKO shopping mall in Hong Kong. Launched in collaboration with cross-border e-commerce operator YAICHI, the store will feature approximately 3,500 products across four categories: health and beauty, stationery, lifestyle goods, and variety items. The selection includes Japanese brands, traditional crafts like Mino ware and Edo glass, and popular anime figures.
In addition to its retail expansion, Loft is advancing its sustainability initiatives through the ‘Loft Green Project Recycle Program 2026’. Starting September 1, 2026, the company will expand its cosmetic container collection program across all 187 domestic stores in Japan. The program, which involves 42 different cosmetic brands, aims to recycle used containers. Loft also utilizes collected plastic to manufacture shopping baskets containing recycled materials and converts accumulated points into donations for environmental projects, such as forest restoration in Noto.
