Loft returns to Hong Kong with one-year pop-up at MOKO mall

Japanese lifestyle and stationery retailer Loft has returned to the Hong Kong market after a 15-year absence. The brand has opened a one-year limited pop-up store at the MOKO mall in Mong Kok.

Managed by the YAICHI Group, the venture involves an investment in the eight-figure Hong Kong dollar range. The store features over 3,500 products, with more than half being exclusive to the Hong Kong market. The retailer is implementing a ‘same price as Japan’ strategy, with pricing determined by Japanese retail rates and the yen-to-HKD exchange rate.

YAICHI Group founder Lo Sheng Cheong stated that while the current location is a temporary pop-up to test the market, the group remains optimistic about Hong Kong's potential. Future expansions into dining, apparel, or supermarkets will depend on the performance observed during this initial year. The store offers various product categories, including health and beauty, creative home goods, Japanese food, and stationery.
