Logan J. Powers arrested after 150 mph Corvette chase in New York

Logan J. Powers, 28, of Waterford, was arrested following a high-speed police pursuit in Saratoga County that resulted in a vehicle fire. The incident began on October 12 at approximately 10:20 p.m. when New York State Police attempted to stop a blue Chevrolet Corvette traveling at speeds exceeding 150 mph on State Route 9 in Clifton Park.

The driver allegedly refused to comply, leading troopers on a pursuit onto Interstate 87. Although officers deployed a tire deflation device, they temporarily lost sight of the vehicle. Approximately 40 minutes later, police discovered the Corvette unoccupied and on fire near the intersection of Southbury Road and Montgomery Way.

Investigators identified Powers as the registered owner. According to police, Powers initially provided a written statement claiming his vehicle had been stolen from Waterford without his permission. However, authorities determined he was the driver during the pursuit and subsequently arrested him on October 14.
